Beer and Pizza
Last week we hosted our inaugural open-house and it was a smashing success. We started at 6pm, but had a crowd by 5:30. The beer and pizza was all gone 8 (note to self – get more beer and pizza). When I left at 10 the diehard folks were still furiously drawing on a whiteboard. I saw pseudo code and took that as my sign to exit the building! ![]()
These types of events can be intimidating for an early stage startup. They always bring out your insecurities. Will people attend? Will they laugh you out of the room? Will they stay after the food and beer have run out? (Note to self – get more beer and pizza). I am happy to say that none of our worst fears transpired as we had over a dozen attendees in our small temporary office. A ruckus time was had by all.
What I enjoyed the most was the interaction between individuals who had just met one another and their positively brilliant ideas for linking their, previously disparate, products / projects together. There are a number of people who are actively building some very cool things on our platform which get even better when they interact with applications being made by others within the community.
Not sure why I am surprised, however. It’s why we started the company in the first place. Can’t wait until the next gathering! Note to self – get more beer and pizza… and whiteboard space.
