Growth and Innovation
The addition of Edwin Voskamp to the GoLife team was a very exciting moment in the history for our company. His joining could not come at a better time, specifically in terms of the strategic alignment of resources. Mounir commented to me last week that he was thrilled about his “new position.” I told him that I had been thrilled about his “new position” for the past two years! Let me explain.
Visionaries are powerful innovators and drivers. I have had the privilege of knowing some very talented folks with a gift for seeing very far ahead and an ability for leading their peers toward that future. Unfortunately I have also witnessed far too often visionaries put into ill-suited roles, inevitably leading to disheartening results. I believe that one of the keys to success in the business world is hiring “A” players and helping them settle into their place of potential. Far too many companies say they do this only to manage their staff into absolute mediocrity, but I digress.
In Mo’s case, his talents are firmly rooted in his abilities to see ahead and bridge gaps. Something that until now we haven’t been able to effectively unleash. So what exactly is Mo’s new job?
In a nutshell Mo will be evangelizing the GoLife vision and technology. His role is to tell our story with passion and verve, help others see their ideas bear fruit and then bring back his learning so that we stay on the straight and narrow. As a friend and colleague, I am excited for Mo and can’t wait to see him engage his role as only he can.
